The entire admission process at IIM Ahmedabad for the PGP comprises 3 stages.
Stage 1:Preliminary Screening
The candidates that have cleared the CAT cutoff are shortlisted on the basis of a Composite Score or CS. The composite score is made up of academic rating score (AR) (includes 10th marks, 12th marks, and work experience) and normalized overall CAT score.
Or we can say,
Composite Score = Application Rating Score + Normalized CAT score
Application Rating score is based on class 10th, 12th, and bachelor exams, and work experience scores.
Shortlisting for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI):
The candidates with the best academic profiles and CAT scores will be further shortlisted for the next round. The shortlisted candidates will be called for AWT and a personal interview round.

You need to appear for the CAT to get a seat in IIM Ahmedabad. If you have secured a score above the required cutoff, you will be shortlisted for GD and PI. Finally, admission will be granted based on your performance in GD and PI, CAT score, and academic profile.
IIM Ahmedabad Admission Criteria:
Decent academic profile, 99+ CAT percentile, and good performance in the interview round should get you an admission offer from IIM Ahmedabad.
You need to have a good academic record along with your graduation. You should start preparing for CAT and try to score more than 99.5 percentile. If you are in a general category try to score high and if you are in a reserved category then you might get some relaxation. After qualifying CAT you might get a call from IIM based on your overall profile. Then you need to do your best in the interview to get into IIM.
So, study hard, start focusing on your key strength and weaknesses and work on them. Take coaching institutions like TIME, IMS, and CL, etc. Also, prepare for interviews because once you qualify for admission through CAT in IIM you need to prepare for interviews. The interviews are one of the major criteria for selection. The questions asked are more related to your logical thinking and your sense of humor as well beyond your technical and academic knowledge.
