Is NIT Raipur good?

In terms of academics, facilities, and placements NIT Raipur is an excellent option for pursuing a technical course. The high cutoff requirement is the reflection of the brilliant student crowd of the institute. 

The institute has maintained a good placement record over the last few years. According to the highlights of NIT Raipur placements of recent years, the average package offered to the students is INR 9.7 LPA. L&T Infotech, Prism, MU Sigma, CapGemini, etc. are among the top recruiters. 

The institute offers good extracurricular as well. It has more than 21 clubs and committees. Due to the locational advantage, students get decent exposure and facilities. 

When NIT Raipur was established, it was originally a mining school. Due to wear and tear, some parts of the building have undergone renovation. The hostels for the students also are not up to the mark. Even though the admissions have expanded greatly, a large number of the students are made to stay in the adjacent town of Kota, because the hostels do not provide lodgings to all of the students. New hostels have been, and are being established, however.

The classrooms and research centers of the institute are up to the mark and the libraries are as well. The library has a somewhat ‘first come, first serve” condition. It has a big perusing room which can accommodate a considerable number of students.

The institute also has facilities for the students to unwind through sports like volleyball, cricket, and so on. All in all, the foundation of the institute leaves a lot to be desired.
