If you believe in yourself and think that you can do well in M.Tech, then you should consider going for NIT rather than joining any company. This is because cracking the CS GATE exam is not easy and there is no guarantee that you will be able to get admission to any IIT next year. Don't waste your one year and go for M.Tech instead.

Here are some reasons why you should consider going for M.Tech at NIT:

  • Opportunities: Top NITs provide a lot of opportunities for students pursuing an M.Tech in Computer Science. There are various research projects, internships, and other opportunities that can help you grow and enhance your skills.
  • Placements: Top companies visit NITs for campus placements, and if you work hard and perform well in your M.Tech program, you can easily get good placement offers.
  • Exposure: Pursuing M.Tech at NIT will expose you to a diverse and dynamic environment, where you will get to interact with students from different backgrounds and cultures. This can help broaden your perspective and give you a holistic view of the industry.
  • Faculty: NITs have highly experienced and knowledgeable faculty who are experts in their respective fields. They can guide you and help you develop a strong foundation in computer science concepts and applications.
  • Networking: Pursuing M.Tech at NIT can also help you build a strong network of professionals and experts in the industry. This can be useful in the future when you are looking for job opportunities or collaborations.

Pursuing M.Tech at NIT can provide you with ample opportunities, good placements, exposure, guidance from experienced faculty, and a strong network.

You should avoid going to any NIT to pursue an M.Tech degree. I am saying with this full confidence after seeing my sister’s experience at an NIT. The degree will be of not much use until and unless you want to go further into academics.

You can join TCS and further prepare for GATE. It would be tough and you might also have to make a few sacrifices but it is not impossible. As one of my friends herself cracked GATE while she was working and now pursuing Master’s in IIT.

Therefore, do not go for an M.Tech degree either from NIT or IIEST. It would be better that you join TCS and prepare for GATE, so you can get admission to IIT. You can earn while you learn at TCS.
