NIT Srinagar

Remarks :

Admission to NIT Srinagar happens through JOSAA and CSAB counselling. The cutoff of CSE for the home state was about 27000 in 2022 and for IT it was 33000. For another state, the same was 24000 and 29000 respectively.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The IT course offered by the college is nearly the same as the CSE with the exception of a few subjects. Each semester there are two examinations, mid-sem, and end-sem. The faculty here is very qualified having done their education from premium institutes like the IITs. The faculty-student ratio is not very good with some shortage in faculty but each branch has sections so we don't face any problems.

Internships Opportunities :

The college provides internship opportunities in the third year with nearly 95 percent of students getting internships, especially in IITs, IISc, and private companies. The highest stipend in 2022 was 70000 and the average was 14000.

Placement Experience :

The placements are good with CSE having 120%, IT 140%, Mechanical 141%, ECE 107%, electrical 114%, chemical 104%, civil 65%, and MME 100% respectively. The highest on-campus placement was 36.5 lacs and the overall median package was 10.48 lacs in 2022-2023.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Most students with income below 8 lacs can apply to NSP(National Scholarship Portal) for scholarships. Also, there is no tuition fee for students with a family income below 1 lacs and a two-third relaxation in tuition fees for 1-5 lacs income students.

Campus Life :

Every year we have the techvaganza event with a footfall of 10000 people. There are many other regular events that create enthusiasm and joy on campus. The libraries are full of books that are required by students for studies. Sports events are also organized regularly. Other clubs are also very active.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel and mess are fine. The menu is good with non-veg being served 3 days a week. The hostel is a little cramped for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years with 5 students in each room. But a new hostel with 1000 bed capacity is under construction. In the fourth year depending on your GPA, you can get single-room accommodation.

In this course, there were too many scopes, this was the reason behind my choosing this course. There are 1 faculty over 10 students. All faculty are Doctoral from 1st Gen IITs. exams were timely and quite difficult to score.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because from starting my interest has been in electronic instruments. The faculty is quite good. The faculty is well qualified. In one year 2 semester is taken and in one semester 2 class test and one end sem. And one sem. The exam is taken in college. Calculus is mostly difficult to get good marks in exams.
