Remarks :
Admission to my college took place through the JEE exam. JEE is a national-level entrance exam to admit to NITs. A minimum rank of 60,000 (unreserved) in JEE is required to get admission into my college (MANIT). Anyone can find JEE application form prior to the exam dates on the NTA website. To appear for the exam one must have 75 % in their board exams of class 12.
Course Curriculum Overview :
My course is for 4 years, it is Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering. It mainly focuses on different aspects of mechanical engineering. The faculties here are well-qualified and professors are knowledgeable. Mainly 3 exams are conducted throughout each semester: Mini, Mid, and End. They are easier than JEE so, one can pass them even after studying at the last moment, that is one week prior to the exams.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are provided accordingly and it varies from branch to branch regarding the salary. Generally, CSE, ECE, and EE get better internship opportunities while ME goes for industrial visits. I haven't done any internship so I don't have any work experience to share.
Placement Experience :
Good campus placements take place. Avg package of different courses varies. The CSE provides the highest package of about 88 lpa and an average of 20 lpa. 75% of students get placed. Popular companies visit campus for hiring.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For unreserved category and income above 8lpa, fees are 86000 per semester. Other categories and various income categories have fees accordingly. Internship opportunities, on campus take place from the 3rd year itself. I am currently in 2nd year, so I haven't got that opportunity.
Campus Life :
Campus life is pretty interesting and it's very lively. There are many clubs, I am currently enrolled in one of them: Entrepreneurship Cell. Lots of sports activities, and competition keeps taking place throughout the year. Books are provided by the library, one needs to issue books with their library card.
Hostel Facilities :
There are a total of 12 hostels on campus. Boys: 10 and Girls: 2. Hostel accommodation is affordable, generally graduation students are provided with Triple sharing rooms initially and then double sharing in the final year. Food is average in the hostel mess.
