Thakur College of Science and Commerce - A heaven for Students.

Remarks :

To be eligible to apply for the course, you must have scored 78% in your 12th exams. The application form for the course can be found at the counter on the ground floor. The application Form fees are around 200-300 and the admission applications are usually taken in the months of May, June and July after the board exams. There are Reservation benefits for minorities and SC/ST. Students belonging to the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh are given more priority in this college during admission. For the reservation quota, the percentage cut-off is lower than that for the general quota. The admission process is very easy. Anyone can go and take admission by himself/herself.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose for bachelor's accounting and finance. Because it is the best course in the college. In this course, we learn a little bit about everything in the finance and accounting world. The faculty-to-student ratio is about 5:100. For every 100 students, there are 5 teachers. And for every subject, there is a specific department. Under that department, there are around 10 to 12 teachers. Most of the faculty in this college hold a PhD degree. The teaching methods used by the teacher are very effective and enhance the learning process. There are 2 semesters and between each semester, they take at least 2 exams, one of which is written, and the other one includes assignments, vivas, and projects. It is mostly easy to pass exams but gets harder when you sit for ATKT.

Internships Opportunities :

Freshers in this college are offered part-time internships from companies like Starbucks, Google and various other companies. There's a training and placement selling the college, which exists for students to apply for internships and get proper job placement. Though it is very difficult to get an internship but once you get it, you get to learn from the best and get reasonable pay.

Placement Experience :

The campus placements are usually above average. The students become eligible for campus placement in semester 5. Around 10 to 15 companies visit and a number of offers are made to the best and above-average students, the highest package offered was 10 10LPA and the average package as well. Company and profiled offer is around 4.5LPA. My plan after the degree is to study further.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure for BAF in this college is very affordable as compared to other colleges in Mumbai. They charge Rs.32720 per semester. Which comes to around Rs.65400 per year. College provides financial assistance to the best students and every student gets a chance to train and do internships with various companies with a stipend.

Campus Life :

The annual fest of the college is called "Taarangan." It is conducted in the month of January, February or March. The library in this college is very vast and contains a lot of books. You can get books to study for your competitive exam. Like UPSC, NEET, IIT, CA, CS etc. You can also get self-development books, storybooks, Books related to the college curriculum, etc. The classrooms are very spacious and they are air-conditioned. The atmosphere of the classroom is very comfortable and it is the best environment to study in. The college has a vast variety of sports and extracurricular activities on the Campus. We have a football team, kabbadi team, cricket team, boxing crew, gymkhana to train and a stadium to play sports conduct fests and host sports events. The stadium has the capacity to hold 50 thousand people. Most of the fest committees groups and clubs are run by seniors in the college.
