MBA Acceptance Rate Abroad: Acceptance Rates & Admission Rounds

MBA Acceptance Rate Abroad

MBA acceptance rate abroad plays a significant role in the preparation of students for applying to top MBA universities. Acceptance rates depict the level of difficulty of getting admission to a particular college. Students are evaluated based on their academic scores, GMAT scores, letters of recommendation, statement of purpose etc. Most of the time there is an interview round as well.

Acceptance rates vary from college to college even by admission rounds. Majority of the business schools in abroad offer 3 rounds of admission so that a student can apply according to his/her convenience. The chances of admission are not same for all the rounds. Universities like Harvard might not have a 3rd round admission.

Difference between Round 1, Round 2 & Round 3

Most MBA Abroad invite applicants to submit their applications in 3 rounds. Students who apply in the first round get the first chance at admission. However, there is no need to hurry. Students who want to study abroad, generally apply to more than one university. Each university has different application requirements. So it's better to prepare at first and then apply, even if it’s for Round 2 or 3.

Round 1 Application: Advantages & Disadvantages

Candidates who are confident with their application tend to apply for the first round. Those with good GMAT scores, good work experience and satisfied with their SOPs can apply for the first round. These students also apply for the top MBA colleges first.

Round 2 Application: Advantages & Disadvantages

Round 2 applicants get more time to perfect their application and take up some projects to level up their work experience status. Students can even appear for GMAT once again if they are not satisfied with their first scores.

There is a high chance that the students applying in 2nd round will face tougher competition for fewer seats. Students applying for round 2 also have to compete with the candidates on the waiting list for the first round. The availability of scholarships also gets reduced because most of the students apply for scholarships to study abroad.

Round 3 Application: Advantages & Disadvantages

In Round 3 the seats get more scarce. Top business schools can even get filled up and not admit any more students. For international students, applying for 3rd round is more stressful because they get very little time for the visa process.

However, students can get more time to analyse and perfect their applications and scores. They also get the chance of analyzing their earlier attempts and prepare accordingly.
