It is a Russel group university and I am interested in semiconductors which it specializes in as there are a large group and a lot of funding going into this and it was far from where I was living which was a benefit for me.
Course Curriculum
I like the diversity available to me in studying modules, but it would be nice to have a greater percentage of my mark awarded for coursework instead of the exam as this is currently twenty percent to eighty percent.
Exams
Maths, further maths, physics, product design, and general studies levels and there were no other entrance exams.
Fees
There were charges for university halls the first year but I am in private accommodation now, I didn't have to pay for the books given to me and the course is nine thousand pounds paid over three tuition installments.
Examination Structure
This is highly dependent on courses and modules, sometimes we have a nice break between individual exams, sometimes we don't, exams are split to have two sections so one with short answers and then the other with longer ones and I like this option.
Faculty
I have gotten along very well with my faculty, they are approachable and friendly and it is very easy to talk or email for advice for both personal and academic matters.
