Very highly ranked against other universities for my subject with a lower entry grade. Outside of a major city which I wanted, living most of your life in London is a real pain and I needed a getaway.
Course Curriculum
Mostly useful and interesting, however, I did sit through a few bogus courses/modules. E.G. a mandatory speech class in which no constructive criticism was given because no one wanted to offend one another. But you would receive 100% in it just for attending and giving your speech, regardless of how well you gave your speech.
Fees
9000 a year, every year for tuition. My student loan gave me around 3300 a year which didn't even cover my rent, so I had to supplement the shortfall in that and food/expenses by working whilst also studying.
Examination Structure
Depends on the year and module. Some were completely coursework based while most were split almost evenly between exams at the end of a semester and written coursework. A lot of our exams consisted of multiple choice answers, which were negatively marked (if you answered wrong you would lose a point but if you get the answer right you get +3 points). Not sure If I agree with this system but it stops people from guessing on questions they don't know or are not certain of.
Faculty
Great, one of the best in the UK for sure. Plenty of funding for research and a lot of up to date equipment which we could use. Some subjects included leaders in their field.
