For academic reasons. It is one of the best universities in the world. They have a large Russian department and a research program for experts in the field. They give you the chance to attend very small classes (1 or 2 people).
Course Curriculum
The curriculum is excellent. In the first year, you get given an overview of both subjects. In the final years, you get to choose specific modules. There is a large variety of choices. With a Languages degree, you also get a year abroad
Exams
Uni entrance exam in French and Russian (unknown score), A levels (3A* 1A - french, economics, pe, maths)
Placement
Placement is for the individual to find. However, the university does provide details of placements available. There are various job placements available in the uni - for example interview or summer school help.
Internship
No, however, they do allow a year abroad and help find internships during this time. They give details of jobs abroad available for students but don't give as much support as needed or a large variety of jobs.
Events
There are lots of events, from student organised ones to events organised by outside companies. There are lots of balls and events for different clubs and societies - for example, rowing races to watch, French society film nights etc.
Fees
Loans are available for fees ($9250 per year). Other charges include accommodation and living expenses. A maintenance loan is also available for this.
Scholarship
There are lots of scholarships available from different colleges within the university. Financial scholarships are probably the most common
Examination Structure
There are exams at the start of every term as well as exams at the end of the first year and final year. These are good as an indication of progress and to make sure you are keeping up with the pace of learning
Faculty
The faculty is excellent. They value each individual and you get taught by world experts. Teaching is done in small groups which is an excellent environment for learning.
Hostel
My university provides residence for all 4 years of my degree. Accommodation is excellent and maintained to a big standard. One downside is that each term you have to vacate your room with all of your belongings
