Bachelor of Science [B.S] [Sport and Exercise Science: Intercalated] From Cardiff Metropolitan University

By undertaking this BSc Sport and Exercise Science (Intercalated) at Cardiff Metropolitan University, you will integrate with students on the final year of the ÔBSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise ScienceÕ degree and have the opportunity to work in the challenging sports and exercise environment, within first class sports science laboratories and sports facilities.Ê

The delivery of modules is achieved using a range of techniques. Specifically students will experience lectures, practicals and seminars for taught modules along with seminars and one-to-one tutorials for their Independent Project. ?Ê

Students can expect to receive around 12 hours of contact time per week via lectures, personal tutorials, practicals and seminars. This figure does not include the time needed for the Independent Project (e.g., data collection & processing; learning new techniques, etc.).Ê

You will be assessed using a range of assessment techniques including essays, reviews, examinations, vivas and scientific reports. Final examinations take place in the last weeks of May, there is no other formal examination period although coursework and other assessments will be spread throughout the academic year.Ê

Employability & Careers?:

Upon successful completion of their medical degree, successful graduates from this course could work in sport and exercise medicine, for example with elite athletes, national teams and squads or be involved in health promotion activities within a local authority or health care trust.Ê

Graduates will also be in an ideal position to undertake the ÔMSc Sport & Exercise MedicineÕ degree at the Cardiff School of Sport or to register on the recently approved Certificate for Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
