Academic Eligibility:

Students must have the following requirements:

Entry to Year 1

  • SQA Higher: BBC to include Art & Design (or a creative design and/or technology subject e.g.Fashion and Textile Technology) and English (or a written subject requiring the use of English).
  • GCE A Level: BC to include Art & Design (or a creative design and/or technology subject e.g. Fashion and Textiles, Design and Textiles) and English (or a written subject requiring the use of English).
  • Irish Leaving Certificate Higher: H3H3H3 to include Art (or a creative design and/or technology subject e.g. Fashion and Textile Technology, Design and Technology) and English (or a written subject requiring the use of English).
  • IB Diploma: 24 to include Higher Level Visual Arts and English (or a written subject requiring the use of English e.g. Modern Studies, History).

Entry to Year 2

  • GCE A Level: BCC to include Art & Design (or a creative design and/or technology subject e.g. Fashion and Textiles, Design and Textiles) and English (or a written subject requiring the use of English).
  • IB Diploma: 27 to include Higher Level Visual Arts and English (or a written subject requiring the use of English).

Indian Students Eligibility:

  • Students must have passed 12th grade from a recognized institution.
  • Students must have Grade C or better in English and Maths.
  • A post-high school qualification (i.e. a higher national diploma, an associate degree) can be considered for advanced entry to undergraduate courses. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

Career opportunities include fashion and textiles design within industry, self-employed designer-maker, and related fashion and textiles opportunities in marketing, buying, and promotion. Recent graduate employment destinations include freelance designer, designer-maker, studio textile designer, CAD designer, knitwear designer, accessories designer, buyer, color forecasting/predictions.

A number of our graduates have established their own design companies such as Donna Wilson, Dreamland Clothing, Emma McDowall, and Dead Sleekit.
