The Bachelor of Arts in Celtic Studies at Aberystwyth University is a full-time 4 years program.
A degree in Celtic Studies from Aberystwyth, taught by staff with a record of excellence in research, opens doors to graduates.
They are the only department in Britain that teaches all the living Celtic languages (Welsh, Breton, Irish and Scots Gaelic).
During the time with them, students will be able to choose from a large and growing range of modules and play an active part in a thriving department.
The degree course in Celtic Studies lasts four years, which allows the students to spend a full year in one or more recognized universities in either Ireland or Brittany.
This offers a unique experience that allows them to gain knowledge not just of another Celtic language but add to their CV.
Aberystwyth has one other distinct advantage: the presence of the National Library of Wales, which is one of only five copyright libraries in the UK. It holds more than six million books, maps, and prints, as well as a huge archive of manuscript material.
The Centre of Advance Welsh and Celtic Studies is also located in Aberystwyth. Studying here will provide the opportunity to attend a wealth of public lectures, book launches, performances and talks in the Department itself and beyond.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

A-Levels: BBB-CCC with evidence of linguistic ability
GCSE requirements (minimum grade C/4): English or Welsh
BTEC National Diploma: DDM-DMM with evidence of linguistic ability
International Baccalaureate: 30-26 with evidence of linguistic ability

Indian Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

Standard XII Certificate from recognized central or state board:75 % in year XII Std.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
