- This joint honours BA in Film and Television Studies and English Literature at Aberystwyth University will hone critical faculties through in-depth study of both audio-visual media and literary texts while also enabling the students to gain vocational skills in Film and Television production.
- The university has a proud tradition of research excellence, as demonstrated in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (2014) assessment. It placed the university in the top 50 institutions for research power and intensity. It submitted 77% of eligible staff and 95% of the university's research was of an internationally recognized standard.
- Their English Literature training will develop the students’ critical and interpretive skills as they respond to language, form and genre and relate literary texts to their cultural and historical contexts. They will encounter poetry and prose from the medieval period up to the present day as well as learning about different theoretical approaches to reading texts.
- Their studies in Film and Television will cover media production skills and give them the option to focus on particular genres or themes within cinema, television or other media such as digital journalism. Practical modules are offered in film-making, TV production, and writing for film and TV. They may also choose to write a dissertation in either or both of their joint degree subjects.
- In the Department of Theatre, Film and Television students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including studios with industry standard equipment and software, over fifty HD digital cameras, a digital vision mixer and enhanced digital gallery facilities. Professional media resources and facilities are also available through links with BBC Wales, the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales, and the leading independent television production company, Boomerang. Aberystwyth Arts Centre, situated on the main University campus, is a vibrant hub of arts and performance activities by both students and visiting professional companies.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- A-Levels: BBB-CCC, plus satisfactory portfolio
- GCSE requirements (minimum grade C/4): English or Welsh
- BTEC National Diploma: DDM-MMM, plus satisfactory portfolio
- International Baccalaureate: 30-28, plus satisfactory portfolio
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Standard XII Certificate from recognized central or state board:75 % in year XII Std.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
