ThisÊLLMÊInternational Law (Global Economy and Asia-Europe Trade and Investment) offered at THe University of HullÊallowsÊyou not only to understand the public (political), private (economic) and moral (human rights) theoretical and practical interactions of International Law but also to specialise in the legal study of economic globalisation.
This LLM specifically studiesÊthe law that regulates global business and cross-border commerce, with reference to trade and investment relations between Asia and Europe. It studies the principles and practices of International Economic Law as a body of critical thought and applied knowledge in its various norms, processes and institutions.
ThisÊLLM is among the first in the world to focus on Asia Ð Europe economic relations. It is among the first to teach International Economic Law as a policy space for the closer economic integration of these two regions. And it is among the first to make ChinaÕs Belt and Road Initiative (B & R) a core element of study.
Future prospects
Graduates of this LLM would typically consider a career in the civil and diplomatic service (for example ChinaÕs Ministry of Commerce and the European CommissionÕs Directorate-General for Trade)Êor a role with the various international economic organizations such as the WTO and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. A career in importing/exporting, customs brokering, freight and logistics and academic and financial media roles would also be open.
