Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at Cardiff University is a 5 years program.
It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
This is a five-year full-time degree with one semester of the fourth year spent studying abroad.
Students will have the opportunity to spend a semester studying abroad at one of our English-speaking partner institutions in Europe, or further afield in Australia, the United States, China, and more.
Students gain valuable experience working in a paid role at an organization in the UK or abroad for one academic year.
There is a strong design element throughout the course, and students will have plenty of opportunities for hands-on practical work.
Students will have access to designated design studio space, specialist laboratories, workshops, and computer suites.
This course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Energy Institute.
In the last year, students have to complete two group projects, which are linked to topical research.
The course content is informed by industrial collaboration and delivered by leading academic staff, many of whom are Chartered Engineers or have worked in the industry.
Students will have the opportunity to join Cardiff Racing and participate in the design, development, construction, and testing of a proven Formula Student racing car.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

36-34 overall or 666 in 3 HL subjects with grade 6 in HL biology or chemistry
Official transcripts of all the previous school, college or universities attended

English Language Requirements:

IELTS: 6.5 overall minimum with 5.5 in each subskill
TOEFL IBT: minimum 90 overall with 17 in writing, 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking
PTE Academic: 62 minimum overall with 59 in all communicative skills

Indian Student Specific Requirements:

Average of 78-81% in top 4 subjects (not including physical education) in Senior Secondary Examination (Std XII)
