This full-time postgraduate degree comprises tutorials, lectures and six months of intensive practical work, before undertaking a five-month independent research project. As well as developing your core knowledge of physical chemistry, you will learn how to critically analyse research data and research publications, and how to communicate scientific concepts and processes. Your research dissertation will be a major part of the course, enabling you to draw on the academic and applied research conducted at Leicester, in topics such as electrochemistry, interfacial properties, materials, atmospheric chemistry, gas-phase spectroscopy and microscopy.
