In the first year youÕll build a solid foundation in theoretical and experimental physics, with a focus on particle physics over the second and third years. YouÕll grow your understanding of the fundamentals of the subatomic world, learning to apply quantum mechanics to describe the behaviour of particles. Contemporary topics include the search for the Higgs boson and new physics beyond the standard model.
