Distinctive features of this course
As a Joint Honours degree student you will study both subjects equally offering you a wide choice of options within subjects. You will focus on the close study of texts in original languages and to engage with of literature from Beowulf to the present day. There is a wide variety of specialist topics for you to pursue including the study of extra-biblical texts, or the historical development of Ancient Israel, literature and law; literature and ecology; Renaissance sexualities; literature and gender; speeches and speech-writing; creative writing; science fiction; 1940s writing. It may be possible to spend a semester or year studying abroad as part of this degree programme.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have a minimum of a second class honours degree or equivalent.
- Applicants without the formal qualifications but with significant appropriate/relevant work/life experience are encouraged to apply.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL or PTE to get admission in this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Students must complete their bachelors degree from a recognized university.
- Students must complete their graduation with 50% from Tier 1 College/ University
(namely University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, University of Delhi) or graduating with 55% from a Tier 2 College/University.
