What is the difference between Fashion Design and Fashion Technology?

Fashion Design and Fashion Technology are both important aspects of fashion industry. There is, however, a fundamental difference between the two fields. Fashion Design mostly deals with creation of design and dress material from available fabrics. Fashion Technology deals with the science of creating fabric from available material. It also focuses on the techniques of producing fashion products and use of various equipment. So basically, fashion Design is about designing products and Fashion Technology is about the techniques and methods involved for production and management of goods produced.

Duration

This course is of 4 years duration with each academic year divided in two semesters each. Apart from the academic education, students also undergo an internship which lasts for about two to three weeks in between 4^th and 5^th semesters. C.E.T.
