Counseling Process

Purpose of Counselling: To assist potential scholars in finding their preferred program.

Appearance Requirement:

• Candidates must personally attend counselling on specified date and time.
• Failure to attend will result in the rejection of an application.
• Candidates must have all required documents (as outlined in IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS) at counseling.

1. Allocation of Seats

Seat Allocation:

• Seats in programs are assigned based on students’ ranking in entrance exams (subject to minimum eligibility).
• Students’ preferred course selection on the counseling form will be taken into account if seats are available.

• Payment of Fees 

Admission Policy:

• Full fee must be received at the time of counseling for admission to be granted.
• Payment options: cash or Demand Draft made payable to "Chitkara University" in Chandigarh (cheques not accepted).
• Twice-a-year fee payments are required as per the university's notification.
• Delayed fee payment will result in fines according to university rules.

Offline Application:

• Obtain the application form from the official website of Chitkara University or purchase it from a Chitkara Information Center.
• Fill in the application form, including all necessary personal and academic information.
• Send the completed application form along with the required documents, such as a passport-sized photo and a Demand Draft for the application fee of INR 1100, drawn in favor of ‘Chitkara University and payable at Chandigarh.

Chitkara University Reservation Criteria

• Of the total seats, 25% remain reserved for qualified candidates from Himachal Pradesh, and 15% are exclusively reserved for Punjab-based students.
• The number of seats allocated for the reserved categories (SC/ ST/ OBC etc.) shall depend on the government policy.
• The processing fee of Rs.1000/- and counseling fee of Rs.2500/- will be deducted from applicants who withdraw before the start of their courses, with a full refund subject to these deductions.
• If a withdrawal application is made after the commencement of classes, fees will be refunded following a pro-rata deduction (less processing charges) and with an additional charge towards counseling.
