How to Convert 10 point CGPA to 4 point GPA

Academic grades are very crucial in a student's life. Students who intend to study abroad must convert their 10 points CGPA to a 4 point GPA. Universities in the United States accept the 4 Point GPA as part of the admission process.

The university or college to which students choose to apply to study in USA or any abroad destination is determined by their GPA. Students at top academic schools may be required to have GPAs of 3.5 or better. However, there are institutions with less stringent admission standards where you can apply with a lower GPA of 2.5 or sometimes even as low as 2.0.

What is CGPA Grading System?

The term CGPA refers to the grading system of Cumulative Grade Point Average. The CGPA of a student is the ratio of the average grade point average for all semesters divided by the number of semesters. E.g. Consider that there are 6 semesters and the following grades:

Converting 10 point CGPA to 4 point GPA

In India, CGPA is calculated on a ten-point system, with 10 being the highest attainable CGPA. Some colleges also utilize a percentage system in which students are graded out of 100. Maintaining GPA and CGPA marks is critical for a student throughout any course because it determines or demonstrates the student's performance throughout the course.

The following formula can be used by the candidate to convert a 10 point CGPA to a 4 point GPA. If you have a CGPA of 6.0 and your batch topper has a CGPA of 8.0, your 4 Point Scale GPA is as follows: (6.0/8.0) × 4 = 3.0
