The curriculum integrates theory with practice and accommodates the various backgrounds and career goals of theatre professionals, dramaturgs, and educators. Most students continue professional work or go on to PhD programs. In addition to the permanent faculty, well-known theatre artists, critics, and scholars teach on a part-time basis. Individual counseling is an integral part of the program. Through meetings with the graduate adviser, a program of study that meets each student?s needs is developed.

MA students may take MFA Playwriting classes with permission. A one-act play must be submitted for consideration.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

Applicant must have completed a bachelors degree from an accredited university
Submit official transcripts of all high school and other education completed
Official transcripts must contain the overall GPA and success in individual subjects and rigor of the curriculum completed
Applicants should submit two academic or professional letters of recommendation
Applicants must submit a statement of purpose of 500-700 words answering why this program and what you can add to the program
Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

English Language Requirements:

TOEFL: minimum 60 in iBT; 550 in PBT;
IELTS: minimum 6.5
