Bachelor of Science [B.S] [Psychology] From Springfield College

In addition to preparing students to enter the workplace as well-prepared and highly-trained professionals, psychology students will receive the pre-training that is required to enter graduate school in psychology or in one of the applied fields. As undergraduates, psychology majors explore areas such as child psychology, motivation and learning, abnormal psychology, educational psychology, interviewing and counseling, and more.

The program faculty members strive to prepare students in the broad field of psychology, emphasizing critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Internships

All undergraduate psychology majors participate in an applied internship experience. These experiences help students develop essential professional skills, expand students? professional networks, and promote career development. Applied experiences include internships such as conducting research with a faculty member, shadowing mental health rehabilitation specialists, co-facilitating support groups for grieving youth, shadowing intake assessment for early intervention services, and assisting with literary skills assessments and interventions in elementary, middle, and high schools.
