The Classes of 2021 and 2022 of MIT Sloan accepted opportunities at 342 companies, pursuing pathways for impact and advancement at leading and growing organizations all over the world. The Sloan School continued to receive job offers despite the coronavirus, with 95.5 % obtaining offers after 90 days and 91.1% accepting.

During the harshest months of the Covid-19 outbreak last year, placement rates for MIT Sloan graduates barely declined. This year, the average base salary increased to USD 144,140 while the median base salary increased to USD 150,000. 48.6% of students who accepted positions went to work with employers who hired three or more Sloanies for full-time roles or internships, and 53.5% of the organizations that hired Sloanies this year did so for the first time.

MBA Class Of 2022 Internship Monthly Base Salary By Industry

For the MBA Class of 2021, the top internship industries were finance (26.6%), technology (25.1%), and consulting (16.9%), with 31% accepting internships at MIT’s top hiring companies. And for the MBA Class of 2022, the top internship industries were finance (26.2%), tech (25.6%), and consulting (21%), with pharma/healthcare/biotech (7.3%).

Of the 405 total graduates in the Class of 2020, 57, or 14.1%, were sponsored and planned to return to their companies; that was up from 46 (11.4%) in 2019. Fewer planned to start their own business, however: just 14, or 3.5%, down from 6.7% in 2019. This year, 76 Sloanies (18.7%) were sponsored and returning, and 17 (4.2%) were planning to become entrepreneurs.

In 2021, the median salary rose to USD 150,000, the signing bonus was flat, and “other” shrank to USD 11,000.
