University of California, San Diego, Rady School of Management or UCSD-Rady admissions' acceptance rate is a mere 40.5%, hence it is a quite a hard nut to crack when it comes to getting admissions. In the fall of 2019, 212 applications were made and only 86 applications were accepted. [ii] For the Class of 2021, out of all the applicants, 40% percent were women and 60% were men with at least 5 years of work experience with 27% being international students who chose Rady School to pursue higher education in the US.

Rady School of Management offers specialized courses in Business Administration and its related areas with undergraduate minors, graduate disciplines and doctorate programs. The most popular majors include Business Administration, Management, Finance, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Accounting, Business Analytics, etc.

  • UCSD-Rady starts its academic semesters for Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter Terms.
  • The Application Fee is 200 USD for MBA courses and other Masters programs 140 USD. All are non refundable.
  • Due to COVID-19 pandemic, course delivery options will be available, including in-person only, in-person hybrid and remote.
  • All classes offered in-person, including lab and studio classes, will observe room occupancy densities and masking practices based on CDC and other public health guidelines.
  • For international students, CDC guidelines recommend a 14-day quarantine period. Students with a housing contract can complete the quarantine period in specially designated on-campus housing with no additional housing fees.
  • In Sept. 2020, UC San Diego will welcome the return of students, faculty and staff for the fall quarter.
  • Several task force work groups consisting of faculty, students and staff have been already created to provide extensive evaluation, planning and preparations.

UCSD-Rady Deadlines

The school accepts as and when it receives admissions requests and processes it. However, the university encourages international students to apply as early as possible and well in advance for the semester in which they are planning to attend.

Rady School of Management International Students Admissions

The Rady School of Management offers undergraduate business courses as minors in Business, Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Supply Chain. The courses are intended for college students who wish to improve their management abilities. Students from any major can choose one of the minor programs depending on the program requirements and other those required to study in the US.

Admissions Requirement:

International applicants must satisfy the following requirements in order to be eligible for Rady School of Management’s admissions :- [iv]

  • A completed online application
  • Official Bachelor Degree transcripts (In case of graduate admissions)
  • Transcripts evaluated by an authorized agency, which are official transcript translations and credentials evaluation.
  • TOEFL/IELTS/PTE Test scores report sent directly to the University. Any one is required.
  • Submission of resume.
  • Two letters of recommendations to be filled up online on the prescribed form and mailed directly by the references
  • Write three essay questions and have to be submitted along with the online application form.
    • Two compulsory questions and one optional question.
  • GMAT/GRE Test Scores have to be submitted.

Optional Requirements

  • Statement of Purpose should be no longer than 500 words.
    • These SOPs are required for some specific graduate programs at the College.

English Proficiency Test Score for International Students

International Applicants are required to present TOEFL, IELTS, PTE etc. to demonstrate English proficiency. The minimum required scores by the university are :-

Visa Process for International Students

All the International Applicants have to apply for a visa to study in the United States after an application is issued by the College authorities. The I-20 form is issued when the application form gets accepted by the College and then the applicant needs to pay a mandatory SEVIS I-901 fee, this is separate from the application or the administration fee.

Documents required for the Visa:-

  • Passport valid for travel to the United States – Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay in the United States.
  • Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160 confirmation page.
  • Application fee payment receipt, if you are required to pay before your interview.
  • Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status-For Academic and Language Students, Form I-20 or Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (M-1) Student Status for Vocational Students.

After the payment of the SEVIS fee, applicants can schedule an interview with the US Embassy for the Visa process.

UCSD-Rady International Graduate Admissions

UCSD-Rady offers graduate degrees in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance and Accounting only.

FAQs

Ques. If I have an MBA degree then will MSBA degree provide additional learning and enhance career opportunities?

Ans. If your MBA program was not heavily quantitative or did not include coursework focused on analytics and data-driven business decision-making, the MSBA may provide education that will assist in your career in analytics.

Ques. What are the minimum GMAT Scores for MBA Admissions?

Ans. There is no minimum requirement; however, the average GMAT scores have been in the high 600s for the Full-Time MBA program.

Ques. I am an international student. Can I apply for scholarships?

Ans. Rady provides limited fellowship support to exceptional individuals. All international admitted students are considered for merit-based fellowships upon admission. No additional application is required.

UCSD-Rady School also awards privately funded fellowships. These fellowships have specific criteria that are assessed through the application process, including fellowships to support students:

  • with great potential to be leaders in their respective industries and fields
  • who have demonstrated significant achievement in the face of economic or personal barriers
  • who will be contributors and leaders in San Diego’s innovation-driven economy
  • with backgrounds in the life sciences
  • Optional essays in the application enable applicants to provide additional information that may be helpful to the fellowship committee.
  • Private educational loans are also available to international applicants. For international applicants, some lending institutions may require that a U.S. citizen co-sign.

Ans. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so once the college receives all the pieces of your application file, the Faculty Admissions Committee begins reviewing your application.
