Anand Pandya Review at Northeastern University [NEU], Boston | Collegedunia

Becoming a Professional through Business Studies in Analytics

AP
8.2 /10

The coursework of the degree and course that I have selected perfectly aligns with my interest. Moreover, the location of the university is in the prime area of Boston, mainly a hub of opportunities where you can grow and gain experience while studying. Also, the university has a CO-OP option which allows a student to intern with a company for a certain duration and also has credits for that. It really impacts your job profile after your graduation. The university provides various services for students and it is really fun to study at Northeastern. The weather experienced in Boston is also perfect in definition as you can enjoy each type of weather here and is it a great place to live in.

Course Curriculum :

My course is Professional Studies in Analytics under the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University. The course is great and provides various understanding and concentration studies in the field of analytics. It majorly has three concentrations which are Statistical Modeling, Applied Machine Intelligence (Data Science core), and Evidence-based management. The CPS college has a quarter system and has a total of 45 credits (15 subjects including 6 core subjects).

Exams :

GRE (My score was 305, Verbal: 145, Quants: 160), TOEFL (My score: 95). It is better to have a CGPA of more than 8 if you are applying to a good course here. The application fee is $75.

Placement :

From my personal experience of watching other students the placement rate at Northeastern University is 100% for me. With a great company and best base salary, Northeast University helps the students to understand their career path, provides courses and curriculum and also guides them towards their respective goals. I haven't come across research options and students here so I can't specifically mention it now but later yes maybe.

Internship :

I currently have just started my graduate studies and am not aware of internships and CO-OP personally. I have seen my seniors interviewing for internships and full-time jobs during and after their graduation. There are various companies, and Boston being one of the main hubs for technical and management companies, there are various job opportunities that can be availed. To be frank, no student has returned to India for a reason of NO JOB after graduation. Also, Northeastern University has its own career services which help students to get themselves places at good companies and good positions with a great base salary.

Events :

Life is wonderful in the Northeast. It is fun to participate in the various clubs, events, and activities organized here. Since not much is happening here due to Covid-19, but life is wonderful in the Northeast. Talking with my seniors and personal interaction with various students here, it is fun to join Northeast where you explore, enchant, and revive your full potential and grow socially with other students. Also, during this pandemic, Northeast is taking care of each and every student regarding vaccine distribution and Covid testing centers. Free distribution of vaccines to students with compliance of free testing every 3 days from NE is a major initiative of NE.

Fees :

The tuition fee for my program is $40,600, which is approx Rs.30 lakh INR including everything.

Scholarship :

No scholarship because North Eastern University is not providing any kind of scholarship.

Faculty :

The faculty at Northeastern is great and have a great experience in the field of study. Currently, the classes are remote. But the teaching of each lecture is great with conceptual understanding and practical examples. They also really help you with every criterion if you are facing difficulty. Various opportunities for Teaching and Research Assistants are also available to have experience in certain fields along with professors.

Hostel :

I am currently staying at an apartment with seniors which is 10 minute walk from University. Various accommodations are available around northeastern at an effective cost and also convenience stores nearby walking distance.
