I decided to go to ASU because it was in the state for me. It would be a lot cheaper than other schools especially since I would still be able to live at home and go to school. Also, the music education program is really good at ASU.

Course Curriculum

8

I think there is a bunch of unnecessary classes that are required for my major. Classes are aimed towards education majors but not for music education majors because our curriculum and standards are so different from everyone else. Our major also has several performance requirements that don't pertain towards our major too.

Internship

Yes, I have 3 semesters of internship and 1 semester of student teaching. My first semester of internship didn't fit well with my schedule so it wasn't the best, and I got a late placement. My 2nd semester has been great though, a much better mentor that actually works with my schedule. No stipends.

Fees

There have been tuition charges as well as class charges, online class charges, and required textbooks. As a music major, we are also required to have the best instruments and tools need for our instruments.

Examination Structure

I am not sure because I don't know what an exam structure is. I don't think my school requires an exam for entry or graduation. I know there's an entrance exam for any of the master, certificate, and doctoral programs.

Faculty

6

I consider most of the faculty to be very helpful mentors. I have come into contact with some professors that I have had problems with. One professor was very patronizing towards our class of about 80 people that knowledge varied. Another professor uses public humiliation as an act of motivation to practice and get work done. Another professor pressured me to stay in my major when I decided I had wanted to change majors.
