When doing my college search, I did overnight visits to the schools that I was most interested in. During my overnight visit, Carroll provided a home-like feel. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, the academic faculty was knowledgable, and the campus had a great overall vibe. I appreciated the small class sizes that Carroll offers and the ability to receive assistance from a professor directly and not a TA.
Course Curriculum
I believe the curriculum is comprehensive. In undergrad, I was a psychology major and there was a wide variety of elective psychology classes that were available in different subject matters. In graduate school, the Course Curriculum gave me a good basis of knowledge to excel during my clinical rotations.
Exams
I took the ACT to get into the school at an undergraduate level and the GRE to apply for the physical therapy graduate program.
Placement
Carroll has a great Career Services department. We had multiple presentations on how to create a resume and cover letter. The department also offers the opportunity to participate in mock interviews to prepare you for a real interview experience.
Internship
Carroll does have opportunities for internships. During my undergraduate schooling, I did not participate in an internship since I was in the direct admission physical therapy program. During my graduate schooling, I had some amazing clinical rotations that gave me the opportunity to practice what I learned in my didactic coursework.
Events
There are many different events that are celebrated by Carroll. Celebrate Carroll is in the spring and it allows students and faculty to present research that they have been working on. There are also lots of events that are orchestrated by the different clubs and organizations through Carroll.
Fees
Annual tuition for Carroll is around $32,000 for the next school year. There are a few other fees that usually add up to around $1,000. Other charges include housing and meal plans. Carroll offers a variety of housing and food plan options which make it affordable for everyone.
Scholarship
Yes- Carroll offers academic scholarships based on GPA and ACT scores. 99% of students receive some type of financial aid.
Examination Structure
The Exam Structure is different for each class/department. I found exams to be challenging but manageable. Exams can consist of multiple choice, true/false, matching, listing, and short answer type questions.
Faculty
The faculty at the college can be great. I had some very knowledgable professors who were always willing to meet outside of class time if I needed additional explanations or assistance. The night classes are usually taught by adjunct professors. I had some great experiences with adjunct faculty and a few negative experiences. Overall, the faculty at Carroll is amazing.
Hostel
During my time at Carroll, I lived in on-campus housing for all four years of undergrad. Carroll offers a variety of housing options from single, double, and triple rooms to on-campus apartments. They recently opened a newer suite-style housing that offers a living room and a small kitchenette. For off-campus accommodations, there are houses and apartments available to rent.
