CSPU Pomona: Erica's Experience at the University

EH
8.3 /10

Because it has a great accounting program and offers lots of opportunities for jobs and internships. It allows me to have hands-on experience and get lots of opportunities to get out and go into the field of accounting.

Course Curriculum :

It's very good, I understand most of what is going on. Accounting is normally hard because it is like another language, however, the professor teaches well so that I can learn. It is very hard being that accounting is not supposed to be easy.

Exams :

I took the SAT and received 640 on math and 590 in English. I also took the Environmental Science test and received a 4.

Placement :

They are in abundance for CPP students so no one is left out. Many CPP professors, if you know them well and is a good student, will help you out in the real world. Placements will be hard as it is in the world of Business.

Internship :

Yes, my experience was great. I learned a lot about the accounting field. I interned at a small firm and prepared taxes, information, did the 1040's with the CPA and helped schedule appointments for the CPA.

Events :

Events that we celebrate is bringing family fun-bring your family on campus (food is provided) Movie nights, donut Monday (every first Monday of the month), MLK, Women Awareness Day, Concerts, LGBTQ, and many other events.

Fees :

I am not sure about the fees. It shouldn?t be more than $40 per person if they are not a cal poly Pomona student.

Scholarship :

Yes, I applied from FAFSA. FAFSA accepted me as soon as I got accepted in CPP. FAFSA is automatically disbursed to your school and leftovers will be given to you by mail.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure is solely based on the information given in class so that it encourages you to go to class. It is multiple choice however, it is not easy as it is an accounting. So far, exams are midterms so every 3-4 chapters, there is one test.

Faculty :

The faulty is very nice, wants the students to understand, answers every question in detail, and is easy to approach.

Hostel :

I live off campus. I love with 3 other people in a rented house. They have dorms, suites, and other residential places to live, but I find that living by myself is better in that not much noise and I won't be easily distracted.
