Adesh Padwal Review at New Jersey Institute Of Technology [NJIT], Newark | Collegedunia

NJIT review

I liked the course structure and the location. compared to my other admits NJIT was on priority list because of the location(near to the new york), which is kind of cheaper. and talking about the courses, professors are really good here, as they have more of practical concerns. and they are really helpful.

Course Curriculum :

Course curriculum is awesome, which is one of the reasons I came here. I haven't got any research experience but during lectures professors give us kind of industrial edge as they gives us an examples of the real world industries to explain.

Exams :

My scores: GRE 299 TOEFL 105 Duolingo 110 ; Class Minimum score: GRE 283 TOEFL 88

Placement :

there are opportunities for internships and for full time work after masters. NJIT has a platform called handshake, most of the companies list their jobs there, so student can apply to those companies. I am not sure about the salary and number of people places but average starting salary for a computer science student is around $80k.

Internship :

Not yet. I am applying.

Fees :

around 55000$ for whole masters.

Scholarship :

I got the scholarship from University of New Haven, they offered me 20% scholarship of my tuition fees and 5000$ yearly scholarship by pace university.

Faculty :

faculty to student ratio is 1:45. Faculty and staff are very helpful. To reach them I usually mail them. Professor Fuad Hamidli.

Campus Life :

there are lots of thing going on campus as NJIT has Indian community, sports club also computer science clubs. As Indian student we celebrate the festivals like ganapati, holi on campus. also Njit recently organize an hackathon. we have free high speed wifi on campus. NJIT has a huge and beautiful library with hundreds of books. also NJIT has printers for students which are there in library itself. NJIT has a huge gym and playgrounds for soccer and also indoor games like pool and all stuff.

Hostel :

living on campus is pretty expensive. there is a city called Harrison near to the Njit. Harrison is cheap for living and all other stuff. Rent here is around 500$ a month.
