I wanted an international exposure. I thought of USA and got to know about this course. NJIT had the program called 'Flexpath', through which international students could complete their semester online. I did my fall semester online. I saved a lot of money because i did not have to pay for housing, residence or anything else. I started for my visa preparation. I was here in mid Jan 2021 to continue my semester. The difference between online and in-person becomes thinner in NJIT. In fall 2021, classes were in-person.
Course Curriculum :
The course curriculum was meticulously developed, and students were given the opportunity to pursue courses outside of it. Because of the practical applications, the syllabus is up to date with emerging technology. We also had the opportunity to work on a capstone project with a business to fix a problem.
Exams :
I had to take my gazette copies of my marksheets. Gazette copies are the ones which are declared on the university website. I needed to apply for transcripts. I had 2 different transcripts because i did diploma and bachelor's in IIT. I had to scan and email the copies. In case of NJIT, i had to submit everything online. My grad certificate, grad marksheets, everything. I had to take my GRE and TOEFL. My GRE score was around 290. TOEFL was 89. What helped my most was I was a part of my family business from many years, and my participation in extra curriculars helped me. I had to submit SOPs and LORs
Placement :
Delloite, PWC, UPS, Mobil, L'oreal, Best buy.
Internship :
I am trying as i am in my final semester. There is this portal called 'handshake' which helps us to get in contact with companies.
Faculty :
Majority of professors are PhDs. NJIT is making sure that professors are well-educated and have appropriate knowledge about subject. Student teacher ratio in my class, its usually a batch of 36 students to 1 professor. Teaching approach is always direct.
Campus Life :
Undergrad makes up majority of population in NJIT. Majority grad students are Indian. There are n no. of clubs. I am in a group called Sanskar. All the grad students club report to a committee, which handles every club. Similarly for other types of courses as well. In college lobby, there are many stalls everyday. Different clubs are there. There is a pub in our college. Delivery of alcohol is limited. Many events are going on, where we get free food.
Hostel :
Generally, people prefer off campus accomodation.
