I loved the balance between academics and fun. I loved how collaborative friendly and happy it is. And I love the flexibility across schools. For example, I am majoring and double minoring across three of the five schools. I learned about this college through word of mouth in my town. It is always very popular among high scholars in my town and so many people talk about it and I was encouraged to apply.
Course Curriculum
I love the curriculum. There are many classes you can take just because you want to, and the requirements are very broad to provide flexibility.
Exams
Washington University takes either the SAT or ACT. The middle 50% for ACT scores is 33-35. I am not sure what the middle fifty percent take is for the SAT. Additionally, you can report your scores on other standardized exams like SAT subject tests and AP scores, which they may give you credit for after starting, but again these are not required and official formal through college board doesn't need to be paid for.
Placement
So many companies come and visit. It is really great for students recruiting. We have 2 career centers that have many assistants available for help, workshops, and other events. They also help arrange internships.
Internship
For example, I work in a summer study abroad program office with the dean to plan next summer's curriculum. There are also so many work-study opportunities for students. And while I just do this for credit, there are also many research positions.
Events
One awesome event is called WILD which stands for walk-in and lie down and It is a super amazing concert that happens once a semester and we bring in a really cool big-name artist like Carly Rae Jepson, chance the rapper, and loud luxury.
Fees
They have a need-aware admissions policy and they also meet all demonstrated need I believe. It makes an environment in the school in which all students may feel passionate about what they are studying and can be there without financial concerns. Everyone given their unique backgrounds brings unique perspectives.
Examination Structure
It depends on the course. Most have about 3 exams and a final. Although of course, this varies between more or fewer exams, having and not having a final, and if you have to do papers.
Faculty
I think they are great. Super passionate about what they are teaching and it really shows!. They are required to hold office hours at last once a week, so this has also been really helpful.
Hostel
I lived on campus for at least my first years in a dorm. This year I am in a modern dorm in a single with a common space connection four rooms. I also have a meal plan through the school, although this has great beaches and the food is delicious.
