I chose UC Davis because it is 1.5 hours away from home, has good bachelors programs and I was awarded a full ride scholarship to attend UC Davis. I like how the campus is very scenic, has a welcoming vibe and all are very friendly.
Course Curriculum :
The course curriculum is well-paced and encourages students to learn. My courses are all very interesting and relate to my future career in healthcare. My current child development class will help me later on in my endeavors as an OB/GYN.
Exams :
I took the SAT and received a score of 1660 as well as the ACT and scored a 26. Lastly, I received a 3 in AP Literature and a 4 in AP Spanish Literature.
Placement :
Throughout the academic year, there are many opportunities to find job opportunities such as through Aggie Job Link or during career and internship fairs. Also, the staff can assist you in finding a job or internship.
Internship :
Yes; UC Davis students can take part in a variety of internships such as health-related internships (HRI) or be part of a student in the clinic. I have held a position in an HRI and applying for a student-run clinic.
Events :
UC Davis celebrates various events during the year such as Picnic Day, holidays such as Valentine day and Christmas and holds activities for students during these events. Students can choose to take part in these festivities.
Fees :
Fees that accrued during the school year are generally paid with financial aid/grant money that is awarded the assistance of FAFSA.
Scholarship :
Yes; I received many scholarships that have helped me attend this school. Some of the scholarships have been awarded to me through UCD while others have been accrued at my local community.
Examination Structure :
The exam to be accepted into UC Davis is to take either the SAT or ACT and score high enough to meet the minimum score for admission. These are the two main tests that can be taken in order to apply for admission.
Faculty :
The faculty at UC Davis are very helpful and are willing to stay after class to make sure that students understand the material. Teaching Assistants are very helpful when someone has a problem and needs additional academic resources.
Hostel :
I have lived in student apartments during my time at UC Davis. Due to costs being high, I have always opted to share a room with another girl. This helps bring down renting costs and allows me to meet new people each year.
