Ranjan Review at University Of California [UC DAVIS], Davis | Collegedunia

UC Davis is nice

R
7.7 /10

The distance from home and the quality of education were enticing, so I opted to go here over my other options, which would either have been further or less quality. I think the economics program is one of the top 20 in the country, so it made my decision easier.

Course Curriculum :

It's good, I suppose. Depends on the classes of course but all the professors are really smart and the TA's are helpful. Some classes are weirder or more complicated so obviously, the curriculum depends on the course you're taking, so it's hard to answer such a general question.

Exams :

I think I only took the SAT and four AP tests. I scored 2130 on the SAT, and I got a 4 on each of my AP tests, which were physics C mechanics, calculus AB, environmental science, and English language.

Fees :

Well, they charge tuition and for online book access, which is optional. Tuition isn't too expensive although the online books can sometimes run $90 (cheaper than the textbook would have been though).

Examination Structure :

You have a finals schedule and you end up taking however many tests in finals week. If you mean for individual exams, I've taken around 9 exams a quarter for the last 3 years I've been here so that question would be very difficult to answer.

Faculty :

Depends on the classes of course but all the professors are really smart and the TA's are helpful. The higher-level courses usually have more helpful faculty than the intro courses.

Hostel :

I lived in the dorms my first year, which was fine, though the room was very small for three people. The dining commons provided good food so I appreciated that aspect. In my second and third years, I've been off-campus in apartments. It's been better, I like having a room to myself.
