I chose Drexel University mainly because of its co-op program. I also chose it because of the wide range of options in majors and minors, which allowed me to explore different programs that the university offered.
Course Curriculum
I'm quite satisfied with the course syllabus, and the best part is that we are required to take up several electives in different departments, and are given the freedom to choose our own general electives to explore around. The coop program is the best part as we get hands-on experience with our majors and minors.
Exams
For my college application, I had to submit my CV, common app essay, college supplemental essay, and 2 LoR's from my high school teachers. In my CV I highlighted my academics, awards, experiences, and activities. In my common app essay, I wrote about how my experiences led me to an interest in pursuing psychology. In my college supplemental essay, I wrote about why I chose to apply to Drexel University. In my LoR's, my teachers included how I was capable of overcoming skills such as time-management, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Placement
Our university is really good with alumni networking for co-op opportunities and post-study placement. There are career fairs every quarter and companies like J&J visit our university for seminars.
Internship
My university does include a coop program, but I haven't done my co-op program yet.
Events
There are so many student clubs and organizations on campus, in which students are encouraged to join. These organizations are academic as well as extracurricular. There are a few research opportunities in my program as well.
Fees
The total tuition fee of my program is the US $134,743.
Scholarship
I've received the Drexel Founder's scholarship which is $5,600/year.
Faculty
I am quite impressed with the majority of the faculty and staff on campus. There are a few professors with who I didn't have the best experience, but a few left a huge impact on me. For example, my abnormal psychology professor, Maureen Gibney, was the most enthusiastic and understanding professor I've come across.
Hostel
I used to live on campus in my first year, but I now have my own apartment. The accommodating rooms required us to share with another person.
