The mission of the Spanish Studies program in the Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Comparative Literature is to help students and faculty build bridges: Puentes across cultures; Puentes that span across ages from the past to the present and into the future; Puentes that cross oceans and borders. While our faculty members teach a wide range of courses encompassing most areas of the field, our program has several areas of recognized strengths and specialization. In addition, our professors participate actively in several interdisciplinary programs in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters and we draw on expertise from other departments and disciplines throughout the university community to provide our students a well-rounded education.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant must have completed a bachelors degree
- Submit official transcripts of all previous educational institution attended
- Applicants must have minimum 3.0 GPA for admission consideration
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency
- Submit a writing sample in Spanish
- Submit two letters of recommendation
- Submit a video clip about yourself
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in iBT; 500 in PBT
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.0
- Duolingo: minimum score of 105
