As the youngest institution in the CSU system, California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) has a moderately selective admissions policy. The acceptance rate was 83%. With 26 and 37 academic majors and minors respectively, the university offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. 

Students can apply for California State University Channel Islands through the CalSate Application Portal. International students willing to study at the university are required to submit a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a scale of 4.0. In addition to this, applicants are required to submit an essay/SOP and a LOR.

Visa Process for International Applicants

The I-20 form is one of the documents needed to obtain a student visa to study in USA. All international candidates will be issued Form I-20 from the university to successfully apply for admission. The following documents must be provided in order to receive the Form I-20

• Completely fill out the I-20 form 
• SEVIS-F1 fee of USD 500.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from an accredited institution.
• A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0.
• GRE scores
• Official Academic Records along with official translation (if original transcripts are not in English) from all universities attended.
• Official English Language Proficiency Test Scores
• Two letters of recommendation (professional or educational)
• Résumé or Curriculum Vitae
• Statement of Purpose

International students are advised to apply, keeping the scholarship application and admission application deadlines in mind. Also, having a higher GPA than the class average or submitting SAT/ACT scores though the same is not mandatory, can be favorable in the admission decision.
