Students who graduate from UW-Whitewater with a degree in Public Policy and Administration will meet the following student learning outcomes:
- Demonstrate writing skills appropriate for the discipline;
- Collect, organize, and analyze data from public policy problems and issues;
- Use appropriate technology effectively in the delivery of their homework and in preparation for their profession;
- Identify, define, and explain the American political system including knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, Federalism, the institutions of American Government, and discuss their operation;
- Show a grasp of U.S. constitutional rights and the roles of parties or groups;
- Classify, describe, and differentiate the major principles and concepts of public
- administration;
- Explain how public policy is made and apply the techniques to analyze public policy;
- Evaluate public policy and apply this to program review;
- Collect, identify, and discuss theories of organizational management and leadership models, and apply these theories to analyze human behavior at the individual, group, and organizational levels
- Apply and practice their knowledge and skills in a professional setting through our internship program.
