The traditional program will be available for those candidates who prefer the face-to-face classroom setting. The online delivery format will offer weekly flexibility for teacher candidates, particularly career changers and paraprofessionals, who must balance their coursework with jobs and family commitments. The online format will be open to teacher candidates across state of Illinois who otherwise may not be able to attend SXU on-campus classes. Offering the program in either format is dependent on the need of student applicants.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

Applicant must have completed a bachelors degree from an accredited university
Submit official transcripts of all universities attended
Official transcripts must be evaluated by an accredited agency such as ECE or WES
Submit a letter of recommendation attesting to the student’s ability to succeed in college and proficiency in college
Submit a personal statement in 200-300 words about why you have applied to the university and personal accomplishment that qualifies you for admission
Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

English Language Requirements:

TOEFL: minimum 80 in IBT; 213 in CBT; 550 in PBT
IELTS: minimum 6.5
