The Business Economics Major within the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree program prepares students with a broad foundation of business knowledge, management skills and proficiency in economic analysis for professional careers in the fields of manufacturing, mining, transportation, communications, banking, insurance, retailing and investment, as well as in governmental agencies, trade associations and consulting firms. According to the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), business economists are also increasingly employed to collaborate with other professionals—including lawyers, accountants, treasurers and engineers—to solve complex business problems. Growth in this field can be attributed to the need of organizations to more fully analyze and interpret the business cycle, government policies and international factors.
