The University of North Georgia (UNG) offers a 36-semester-hour Master of Education in Middle Grades Math and Science (M.Ed. MGMS). The M.Ed. in Middle Grades Math and Science is an advanced degree designed for certified teachers. The program offers certified teachers the opportunity to expand their knowledge in highly sought-after teaching fields. The degree is awarded through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) accredited College of Education at UNG. Top graduate faculty from UNG and Valdosta State University teach the courses.?

This 12-course, 36-hour program, can be completed in four consecutive semesters with full-time enrollment. Courses are offered on a continuous basis, allowing for part-time enrollment. Coursework, including exams, is completed online. No campus visits are required to complete the program. Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a bachelors degree from an accredited university
  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0
  • Prepare a writing statement of five pages highlighting your career objectives, experience in the subject, describing populations you are interested in working with, personal strength and limitations in the subject
  • Submit three recommendation forms from individuals who can address your academic potential, professional experiences and non academic experiences
  • Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

English Language Requirements:

  • TOEFL: minimum 79 in iBT
  • IELTS: minimum 6.5
