- The program focuses on the social scientific study of human communication using quantitative research methods with a concentration in mediated communication and digital society.
- Students may specialize in such areas as mediated communication, information and communication technologies, and social interaction.
- Program coursework examines the production, distribution, processing, and impact of messages from a bottom-up and a top-down perspective in a multidisciplinary context.
- Topics include the convergence of traditional and new media in entertainment and political communication, online communities, the uses and effects of communication technologies in health, and the processing of messages in mediated contexts.
- The program prepares students for careers in research, teaching, industry and government.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a related subject from a recognized university.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
The GRE score is not required or accepted for Fall 2022 admission.
