- The Avian Sciences Graduate Group aims to provide broad training in the underlying principles of the biology of Aves. The program offers specialized advanced work in several disciplinary areas, such as nutrition, physiology, reproduction, pathology, toxicology, immunology, food science, management, ecology, genetics, incubation, environmental physiology, and developmental biology of wild and domesticated animals.
- A variety of wild and domesticated birds are used as experimental animals, including psittacine, raptor, passerine, aquatic, and poultry species. Collaborative research is common within the Avian Sciences Graduate Group and can be attributed to the interdisciplinary nature of the program. This specialized study provides unique qualifications for a variety of job opportunities as well as further academic training towards a professional degree or a Ph.D. in a related program.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) from the institution where students have earned or will earn their bachelor's degree.
- Successful applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent that is comparable to a degree.
- Applicants whose native language or the language of instruction is not English must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores
- The GRE score requirement for the 2021-2022 admission cycle has been waived for all students.
Indian Eligibility:
- 4 year Bachelor's Degree, a 3 year Bachelor's Degree with a Post Graduate Diploma or Master's Degree, or a higher degree.
