Students learn how to help athletes?prevent injury, recover and return to pre-injury status.? During the program, students complete a series of clinical experiences.? These experiences may be associated with FGCU intercollegiate athletic programs, professional athletic programs, local sports medicine clinics, and local high school athletic programs.? Graduates of the FGCU B.S.A.T. program are eligible to take the Board of Certification (BOC)?examination to become a certified athletic trainer.

Graduates will be able to:

2.??Demonstrate proper immediate, emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation required of an athletic trainer.
3.??Identify important concepts related to administration used in professional athletic training practice.
4.??Model professional behaviors that are consistent? with professional practice in athletic training.
5.??Demonstrate effective critical thinking and problem solving skills compatible with being an effective athletic trainer.
6.??Appropriately use and modify written and oral communication used in athletic training practice.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicants to the university must have completed 12 years of preparatory education
- Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a high school diploma
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
- Official transcripts must have a course by course evaluation from a NACES accredited agency
- Students with lower GPA need to meet the SAT (1450) and ACT (21) requirements
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in iBT; 213 in CBT; 550 in PBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
