The artists and scholars who make up the faculty of the School of Arts and Humanities demonstrate their mastery of these skills through their own increasingly prominent scholarly and creative work and through their teaching. We welcome you to the School of Arts and Humanities, where students have the best of both worlds: they study what they love and get the skills they need.
Students in Historical Studies can explore their own interests in a wide range of fields such as American/Atlantic World, European, Mediterranean, Southeast Asian, and Ancient Near Eastern history. In addition to coursework for the major, students may
??Intern?with historical societies, libraries, and art museums
? Become certified to teach social studies in secondary schools
? Study abroad
? Participate in travel with the History Club
? Participate in conferences, such as those sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta, the
national honor society, and by the McNeil Center for Early American Studies
at the University of Pennsylvania
Qualified Historical Studies majors are eligible for automatic admission into the MA or Certificate in American Studies at Stockton, the MA and MAT degree programs in the Federated History Department of Rutgers, Newark/NJIT, and the MA degree program in History at Rutgers, Camden.

Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other educational institution attended
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency like WES, ECE, SpanTran
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit one or two recommendation letters from secondary school counselors
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in iBT; 213 in CBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- PTE: minimum 58
- Duolingo: minimum 105
