After a required foundation course in writing fiction and poetry, you choose intermediate workshops in fiction or poetry writing.? Then, starting in your junior year, you choose from among advanced specialized courses based on your interests:?Writing for Children, Young Adult Writing, Memoir Writing, Fiction Writing, Poetry Writing, and Script and Playwriting, in which you'll work one-one-one with faculty members who are professional, published writers. The required internship gives you the opportunity to work with local presses, publishing companies or creative arts organizations.?
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit your secondary school transcript with a literal translation in English performed by a licensed translator and signed in ink.
- Official transcripts should include a list of subjects studied, a qualitative rating on a course-by-course basis, and an overall rating.
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit one letter of recommendation from your school counselor or academic teacher
- Submit portfolio review of your work
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in iBT (writing- 18, Reading- 20, listening- 19, speaking- 22)
- IELTS: minimum 6.0 with no band below 5.0
- Duolingo: minimum 100
- ITEP: minimum 4.5
