Southeastern's English graduate program provides advanced study of British, American and World literatures while preparing students for professional opportunities such as teaching, creative writing, professional writing and publishing, library and information science, doctoral study and any work demanding complex interpretation and communication skills. Literary studies span global cultures and history, from ancient literature to contemporary poetry, fiction, drama and film.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicants must have a bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
- Official transcripts should contain the subjects taken and grade information
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or equivalent
- Applicants must have completed 24 semester hours of undergraduate English courses, at least 12 of which must be at the Jr./Sr. level
- Submit official GRE score of minimum 150
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 550 in PBT; minimum 80 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 100
