Students will have the opportunity to study metals and alloys; ceramics; electronic, magnetic, and optical materials; and polymers. Materials Science and Engineering are inherently interdisciplinary—students interact and collaborate with students and scientists in other engineering and science disciplines.
Materials science and engineering focus on the synthesis, processing, properties, and applications of engineering materials—from the production of primary metals to the development of microelectronic nanomaterials with novel properties.
The graduate program offered by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering provides an outstanding foundation for careers in research, academia, materials production, and manufacturing.
Graduate students have the opportunity to study composite materials, ceramics, metals and alloys, electronic and optical materials, and polymers.
Research topics include synthesis and processing of primary materials, thermodynamics and kinetics of microstructural evolution, and material properties and performance, to name a few.
The MSc program consists of 30 credits.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or equivalent from a recognized institution.
A GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 is required to be eligible for the program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete an undergraduate degree with first-class in a relevant field from a highly-ranked university in India.
Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
