- The M.S. in Epidemiology at the University of California is thesis-based, and students are expected to finish in two years.
- The first year is largely devoted to required course work and, with guidance from faculty, developing an area of interest within which the M.S. thesis research will be conducted.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a related subject from a recognized university.
- The Department of Epidemiology requires current, official GRE scores as part of the application.

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
